Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Veggie Toolkit work with Vegas Media Studio?
No, the Veggie Toolkit only works with Vegas Pro because only Vegas Pro supports the scripting API.
Why am I getting a security error when trying to install on Windows Vista or Windows 7?
Make sure that you are logged on as an administrator and turn off User Account Control before installing. If this does not work, please contact us with the error message.
Why am I getting a Vegas not installed error message when I know Vegas is installed?
If you are sure that Vegas is installed, make sure that you have run Vegas at least once prior to installing the toolkit. Vegas does not create all of the needed registry entries until you actually run the program.
Why am I getting an OBDC error with Media Logger under the 64-bit version of Vegas?
Unfortunately, Microsoft did not make any ODBC text file drivers available for 64-bit applications. Media Logger will work properly if you run it under the 32-bit version of Vegas even on a 64-bit version of Windows. Please download and use the 32-bit version of Vegas for your import/export needs until we can find a better fix for this problem.
Can I use Network Rendering with MultiRender?
No, unfortunately network rendering is not supported via the Vegas Scripting API. You can install MultiRender on multiple machines if you purchase additional licenses and run multiple rendering tasks simultaneously.
Why didn't I receive my license key right after I ordered your product?
Since we are a small company, we wait for our order processing service to finish their fraud check on your order before sending out the license key. This normally takes less than 48 hours. If your trial key has expired and you need the key right away, please contact us and we can send you an extending trail key prior to your actual license key being sent.
Does Veggie Toolkit work with Vegas 4, 5, 6, or 7?
Version 2.0 of Veggie Toolkit supported Vegas 5, 6, and 7 and has been discontinued. If you are unable to upgrade to Vegas Pro 8 or 9, please contact us about obtaining a copy of Veggie Toolkit 2.0. Vegas 4 is not supported.
Can I run Veggie Toolkit on more than one computer?
The Veggie Toolkit license allows installation on more than one computer, but only one computer at a time can be running the toolkit. If you need to run the tools on more than one computer at a time, please purchase additional licenses.
Why is it called Veggie Toolkit?
Because it is our rather poor attempt at humor. Vegas projects have a .veg extension and many users started calling these files "veggie" files, so... you get the picture.

"As an editor working in the long form documentary format the Veggie Toolkit is an invaluable tool. Being able to automate batch renders of a series of sections in a long project  definitely speeds up my workflow. Thanks for the fine work." - Charles Dennis

"The media logger in Veggie Toolkit lets me take in logs and pick lists to base a capture session on. It's really helped me use Vegas alongside other edit systems." - Rob Mack

"Your toolkit is absolutely invaluable to my stock footage website. I have hundreds of clips I need to rerender all the time in different formats, and it was be insanely time consuming rendering a clip at a time like in the old days. I'm being honest when I say that your program has saved us days of work by being able to render all clips as separate files automatically. Brilliant program." - Tim Kronberger, Skytimelapse.com
